Oak Creek Band Tours Arizona to bring in 2012

DENVER, CO - The Oak Creek Band will be back in Arizona, January 2012 with a stop at a popular theatre near Sedona followed by hitting the stage at one of the largest, and most popular winter festivals in the state, Glendale's Glitter and Glow Block Party.  The January tour also includes the debut of a new single entitled, "2012."

“OCB” is thrilled to begin their mid-winter tour with a hometown performance on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at the Canyon Moon Theatre located in the Village of Oak Creek. The night will be a showcase of Oak Creek’s newest original material from the band’s upcoming EP “Fingerprints”. Doors to the event open at 6:30p.m and the $20 ticket price includes a reception with the band. Local acoustic duo “Doc ‘n Dom” will entertain the crowd during the pre-show mixer, with OCB set to take the stage at 8pm.  The theatre is located at 5857 Highway 179. For ticket information visit:  The Marketplace and Webers IGA in the VOC, and Bashas and Golden Word Bookstore in Sedona or call (928)282-6212.

Three days later, Saturday, Jan. 14, The Oak Creek Band makes its debut appearance in historic downtown Glendale at the Glitter and Glow Block Party.  The festival includes several live bands scattered throughout the downtown with more than two dozen hot air balloons lighting up the night sky, with an estimated crowd of around 90,000 people passing throughout the evening. Admission to the festival is free and OCB takes the stage near 58th and Palmaire Ave. at 4p.m. and will be playing until the festival ends at 10pm.

After the mid-winter tour, the band will be celebrating with fans in the spring as a new album is released.  True to their roots of being influenced on music from past eras, such as the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and John Denver, the band's new album was recorded with a technical twist.

“We have been recording on analogue tape, bringing back the warmth of the analogue sound that is pristine and pure," said Daniel Watters, OCB’s founder.  "Our music is a blend of different genres and we offer a creative element on this new album that gives the entire CD a new, yet old, soulful feel."

The six song E.P. entitled “Fingerprints” will feature songs from Oak Creek’s live repertoire including the soon to be released single “2012”. Daniel and Jenna Watters are both featured on guitar and vocals along with another
Sedona native, Paul Morris on Wurlitzer piano and guitar.  Colorado native, Steve Rogers is on bass and the band is proud to welcome their newest member Carl Sorensen on drums. The band will also bring along special guest musician Ryan “QuamyEbarb, from the popular Colorado band “Yamn”, to fill in on organ and clavinet duties.
